Saving conversations
Choose which supported AI conversations become shared company sources, and manage sharing and deletion.
Enable sharing
In a supported local macOS Codex CLI or Claude Code installation, the Pensieve plugin connects through native Pensieve MCP authentication; there is no separate connection step. It then opens a page once asking whether to save your new conversations to the context: Approve or Deny. No setup skill, credential download or terminal command is needed.
MCP sign-in alone never shares conversations. Approving starts fresh: previous chats and account-wide cloud history are not imported. Codex Cloud and Claude Code Cloud capture are not currently supported.
Who can read saved conversations
Context members can read saved transcripts, and Pensieve can extract useful company knowledge from them. Transcripts remain until explicitly deleted.
The sharing choice is remembered for your account, context and harness: Codex apps share one preference, and Claude has a separate one. A decline is remembered too. Compatible apps on the same computer reuse their private local connection, and a new computer connects automatically with your saved sharing choice.
Find and manage transcripts
Open Data → Sources to read transcripts alongside other sources. Filter by source, status or modified date, or search by title and author. You can delete your own transcripts from their readers. Only the author can delete a transcript; admins and owners cannot delete another member's transcript.
To change sharing, open Data → Connectors in the relevant context and configure the Codex or Claude transcript card. Turning sharing off offers to keep or delete your transcripts from that harness. Extracted company knowledge remains. Other members and contexts are unaffected.
The card's people count shows who is sharing. A Connected card means someone has linked that harness, even if sharing is currently off. If sharing controls are disabled, follow the setup link and run the plugin in a compatible client. You can change a previous approval or decline using the sharing toggle and Save.
Your agent can open the relevant settings through info(help="transcripts").
Connection interruptions
Uploads already attributed to a context retry after temporary failures. Turns without authenticated context attribution are not automatically imported when you reconnect MCP.
