Gmail is distilled the way Slack is, and for the same reason: an inbox has no natural unit. A support thread might close a contract or ask about lunch, and mirroring every message would bury the one that mattered. So a scheduled distiller reads each inbox, keeps only what durably changes the picture — "the renewal was agreed at £60k on 3 March", "Acme's new contact is Rachel" — and writes it as facts that still cite the thread behind them.

What you choose

An inbox is the unit. Each one is connected on its own, by whoever can sign into it, and keeps its own history depth and schedule:

  • A shared work inbox — support@, sales@, hello@ — is the main case. Sign in as that account and it joins the context for everyone.
  • A personal mailbox works the same way, and is what a personal context uses.

Any member can add an inbox. Admins and owners manage every inbox; the member who connected one manages that one — its history depth, its schedule, and disconnecting it.

What it can't see

  • Google Groups collaborative inboxes and delegated mailboxes — the Gmail API only serves the account that signed in. Sign in as the shared account itself.
  • Attachments.
  • Anything older than the history depth you chose when the inbox was added.
