Uploading and managing sources

Add files directly, inspect processing and evidence, and replace or remove source documents.

Data → Sources lists the individual documents behind your context: connected files, uploads, saved conversations and knowledge saved by an agent. Pages cite these sources; opening a citation takes you to the supporting passage.

Upload files

You can add documents directly, without a connector — documents (PDF, DOCX, PPTX, TXT, MD), spreadsheets (CSV, XLSX, XLS), images, or a ZIP that Pensieve unpacks while preserving each file's path. A single upload can carry up to 1,000 supported files, 50 MiB per file, and 500 MiB of expanded content; anything unsupported is reported and skipped rather than silently dropped.

Processing and evidence

A queued source moves through Pending → Processing → Active. Only Active sources feed curation, so a new upload is not immediately a maintained Page. How it stays up to date explains the first build and where to check progress.

Search and filter the list to find a source, open its content, follow its citations and inspect its History. Saved conversations also appear here.

Replace or remove a source

Re-uploading the same path updates the existing source. Deleting an uploaded or connected document requires an admin or owner. Saved transcripts can only be deleted by their author, including an ordinary member. For connected documents, deletion also offers to exclude the document from future syncs, which prevents the connector from bringing it back.

Disconnecting a connector and changing its scope have different effects. Check How connectors work before changing a selection.
